Are there any good study habits out there that I still have to cultivate? Maybe I’m a long way off. Maybe not. I think this pomodoro journal is a fantastic study technique. What else is there? Sometimes reading things that are boring or things that are very foreign to me like very terminology-laden biology papers.

This seems supergeared toward undergrad, college 101 type stuff.

“Here’s an app that uses the pomodoro technique.” Check.
joining or creating a study group isn’t just because misery loves company
lol. As an undergrad, I can remember working on group assignments with a bunch of people mainly for the social elements. Its very distracting when the room wants to work and there’s one guy who wants to make everyone else laugh. I have both been that guy and been in the room with that guy.. as an undergrad… 10 years ago. I think the grad environment is going to look different. I love beginnings.
Learning Style
Is learning style real?
A bunch of these search results are watered down advice to get the click.
I’m really unsure about those Quiz type apps. I think probably this is not what you think. To get good at a multiple choice question, you might be just good at picking the right door when presented with a set list of doors, and know nothing of the question or the subject.
My best performance came when I felt like I connected with the subject. (One exception was some math classes. Knowledge of application isn’t so important if the class is very theoretical. In these cases, I found I tried to visualize too much, too often an application or a connection with another subject when I should have just been learning the theory.)

What is Mastery Learning?
But students who chose to improve their scores by taking the quiz multiple times did better on their first attempts future quizzes as well.
🤔
Keep practicing each class concept until you have mastered it, before moving on to the next concept.
Set clear benchmarks and test yourself on key concepts before moving on to the next.
Chose the topic/module that you want to be a master of (this will likely be found in the course syllabus).
Practice, practice, practice! Take and re-take the quizzes available to you
What about making your own quizzes. I feel like I’ll never do this.
